Justice & Equity for All
Justice & Equity Alberta is an organization of legal professionals, community builders, and Albertans from all walks of life committed to a more just and equitable Alberta.
Who We Are
Our Values
We honour the territory on which we operate and the Indigenous peoples who permit us to do so. We are committed to upholding the spirit and intent of Treaty 6, 7, and 8, and engaging in respectful relations with the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Stoney Nakoda, and Dene peoples and their territories, as well as the Métis Nation and their homelands. Justice and Equity require ending and providing redress for colonial harms.
We recognize that the law functions as both a source of oppression and means of transformation. Justice demands that we name and challenge oppression in all its forms. Equity asks that we articulate and work towards a better future.
In all things, Justice & Equity Alberta is guided by values of respect, humility, community, and courage.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Justice & Equity Alberta is to protect and advance the human and civil rights of marginalized people in Alberta through the legal system. Justice & Equity Alberta will advocate, educate, and build relationships of solidarity to combat systems of oppression and contribute to a more equitable Alberta.
